THE PLACE BEHIND THE ARTWORK
A street held in cultural memory
The King’s Arms on Poland Street is one of London’s historic LGBTQ+ pubs and was among the city’s earliest openly gay bars. Today, it is closely associated with the bear community.
This abstract map reduces the surrounding streets to shape and line, while its warm brown, orange and yellow palette reflects the community that has made the pub its own.
